| There are two problems with the PSR740: 1. There is a major bug in the PSR740 that will cause an irregular tempo in the auto accompaniment and song playback when the 64 voice polyphony is exceeded. When you change chords, sometimes the unit will slow down. This problem has been confirmed by Yamaha and they claim that: "The reason of the timing delay is limitation of Sound Module Processor of the PSR740. This is a hardware limitation." |
2. When viewing a recorded midi file with
Cakewalk, I found that the auto-accompaniment sometimes
overlaps two chords for a fraction of a second. This uses
twice as many voices and slows down the playback speed
during some transitions. I have found that the only solution is to reduce the number of playback channels and edit out the overlapping chords - which can be a very time consuming process. Some people think these problems are caused by the serial midi connection to a rather slow computer. |
